Loveland Pass, Mountain Elopement, in Colorado
Emma and Erik wanted to marry one another on Loveland Pass with their closest family and friends. They chose a day in late May, thinking they would be safe with the weather. Well, lo and behold… the day of their wedding we had a winter storm come in that was calling for 34 inches! I think secretly their pup Brody had this planned all along (being an Alaskan malamute). With this forecast, I packed up my family and headed out their way to spend the night close by in Leadville.
Emma and Erik rented a beautiful home in Dillion, Colorado for themselves, friends, and family. It was the perfect setup. Everyone was able to get ready in the same central location with different floors. It turned out to be a beautiful winter wonderland!
After getting ready and doing a first look at the Airbnb, we packed into in the car and drove up Loveland Pass. Our plan was to go to the top, but with the winter storm we had to make some last minute changes, and so we found a lower parking lot where they said their “I do’s” to one another. You need to be ready for last minute changes on your wedding day, especially in some wild location in the mountains. Emma and Erik handled these ruffles in the plan so gracefully, and it was a perfect day despite the weather!
Back at the Airbnb, a personal chef was starting to prepare dinner. We did a quick cake cutting and Brody proudly signed their marriage license!
